The WBS Charity Foundation and VBL Charity Foundation co-hosted a Bourbon & BBQ event at Texas Jack's Barbecue on April 29th, 2023, in Arlington VA. The event featured a pairing of BBQ and Bourbons meant to enhance the enjoyment of the spirits selected.
The event's purpose was to perform outreach to the local community to educate and inform them of each charity organization's mission and purpose. The team helped provide sensory training tips to help folks better understand their palates and enhance their appreciation of bourbons.
The meals were curated to show that food pairing options exist with whiskey. Below is the pairings done for the event:
Cucumber and Watermelon Salad paired with Hancock President's Reserve
Brisket Eggrolls paired with Colonel E. H. Taylor Small Batch
BBQ Platter paired with Baker's Store Pick
Banana Pudding paired with Old Forester Single Barrel, Barrel Strength
